Plastic Surgery The Meeting is the premier educational and networking event of the year, for both domestic and international plastic surgeons. This event provides a platform for showcasing the latest advancements in plastic surgery, offering educational sessions, workshops, and presentations covering various aspects of the field. The conference is intended for plastic surgeons, trainees and other allied health professionals interested in translating their expanding knowledge into practice, improving patient care and outcomes.

bodySCULPT® is proud to announce that our NYC plastic surgeons – Dr. Spero Theodorou and Dr. Christopher Chia – will speak at PSTM 2023, scheduled to be held from October 26 – 29, 2023 at Austin.

Organized by The American Society of Plastic Surgeons, this meeting brings together the best and the brightest surgeons in the specialty, poised to share their expertise with colleagues who arrive from countries around the globe.

PSTM 2023 – Highlights

Dr. Spero will speak on “The ABC’s of Anesthesia and Body Contouring”, part of the on-demand content that will be available starting at 8:00 a.m. Central time, October 19 through December 31. On October 19, he will speak about avoiding general anesthesia in body contouring, which can lead to a decrease in major complications.

In this session, our surgeon will explain how to navigate the use of local anesthesia and new medications to aid in performing body contouring without general anesthesia.

At the end of this activity, participants will be able to:

• Identify safe practices in anesthesia with body contouring.
• Discuss new medication in aiding sedation-based anesthesia.
• Discuss transitioning from operating room to office- or surgical suite- based procedures.

On October 29, Sunday (8:00-9:30 A.M), Dr. Christopher Chia will discuss the topic “Mind the Gap: Inner Thigh Contouring Demystified”. He will describe all aspects of thighplasty – from non-invasive state-of-the-art technology to minimal incision to full length scars, avulsion techniques and serial excision.

At the end of this activity, participants will be able to:

• Identify the degree of skin laxity and type of thighplasty most appropriate.
• Understand non-invasive options for thigh contouring and safety profile.
• Understand surgical markings for thighplasty.
• Understand how to perform various thighplasty procedures, including excision and avulsion techniques.
• Learn how to avoid complications and optimize results with thighplasty.
